Annuals

Takka Takka

Femme Generation

A Brief Smile

Last night’s show was the perfect way to celebrate FRICTION’s first anniversary. We wouldn’t have wanted it any differently. A huge thank you to Annuals, Takka Takka, Femme Generation, A Brief Smile, and Matt Earfarm for putting on such an incredible show. Thanks to our friends, fellow bloggers, DJ’s, and sponsors for your continued support of the show. Also, thank you to the all the bands who played FRICTION in the past including:

Aeroplane Pageant, Amusement Parks on Fire, Apes and Androids, The Art of Shooting, Nicole Atkins, The Big Sleep, Cassettes Won’t Listen, The Diggs, El Jezel, Emma La Reina, The Favourite Sons, Foreign Islands, The Foundry Field Recordings, Ghostland Observatory, The Head Set, herMajesty, Man in Gray, The Mugs, Levy, Other Passengers, The Go Station, Say Hi To Your Mom, The Secret Life of Sofia, The Silent League, Rahim, Spielerfrau, Summer Lawns, Up the Empire, The Unsacred Hearts, The Upwelling, The Walkup

Matt has a really nice recap of the entire show and Rachael summed up my feelings about Annuals performance with the following paragraph:

“Everything about their show completely one-upped the love I’ve had for their debut album Be He Me. From the duel drums, maracas, screeches and wails, Baker and Co. let it all out for an extremely ecstatic New York crowd…and I was left with a sort of shell-shocked look on my face. I needed a bit of a rewind and play action — I was too stunned to live through that only once.”

FRICTION will return to Sin-e on Friday November 3rd for our CMJ showcase. We’re really excited to be part of the festival this year and equally excited about our lineup, which we’ll announce along with another little surprise at a later date.

Word on the street is that one of the Crackers attempted to put the moves on my little sister at this show. Meet me at 3:00 behind the school. I’m gonna pummel you!
