Asobi Seksu has been one of my favorites for a few years now and I’ve been anticipating their second album, Citrus, which was released yesterday. After seeing the quartet a handful of times I was somewhat familiar with some of the new songs on the album, which has improved on their self-titled debut with a more polished/catchier sound that still incorporates big swirling guitars mixed with a hint Japanese pop and Yuki’s sweet vocals. The band is celebrating the release of Citrus at Joe’s Pub this Thursday (tickets) and the album is available at Insound. Listen to ‘Thursday’ from Citrus below and stream the whole album at the band’s site.
