Last night, members of the legendary group (my favorite band ever) Depeche Mode had the opportunity to meet up with Members of CU. We’re usually not easily starstruck or starfucked living in NYC. After meeting Martin Gore and Andrew Fletcher, CU’s members were quickly humbled as we had to forsake our girlfriends and women for the moment.

OK, I’m gonna stop frontin’. Theo and I almost creamed in our pants (yes, in a homoerotic way, we’re not ashamed of it) when we saw our childhood heroes. It was only a few years ago as 12 and 13 year olds in 7th grade when I approached Theo and asked “Where did you get that Depeche Mode shirt?” The lifelong friendship and love for Depeche Mode began after Theo answered “I went to the show last night with these other nerds.”

I would’ve probably lost all bodily function and acted as if I was getting wet with Christian (that monkey), if lead singer David Gahan would’ve walked into the place. We found out that David has been keeping sober and lives just a couple of blocks from the bar.

It was fun but at the same time surreal to ’shoot the shit’ with them about their music, peers, rivalries, family, politics and even futbol. They even bought us shots. Fuck yeah! By the end of the night we were calling them Marti and Andy. DM are in town working on their new album, which they say should be released in October.
